Purpose

Purpose

“We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in our hands to make a difference.”

These words were echoed by the late Nelson Mandela, and embody my reasons for running for Orangeburg County Council District 5.

An Orangeburg native, I believe that local government, run by local people who genuinely care about their community, can make a significant difference in the lives of the constituents there. The vital issues that I would like to address run the gamut from homelessness, to reaching our youth, enhanced technology for all citizens, smart affordable housing and creating economic stability.

I have the educational, military and community experience to join the current members of the Orangeburg County Council to create this needed change, as well as the faith necessary to lead this community with integrity.

As Nelson Mandela so eloquently stated, “we can change the world,” but it is in the hands of council members, residents, and each community to take the critical steps that will make a far-reaching difference.

Experience

I was educated in the Orangeburg Public School System, later receiving an Associate Degree in Human Resource Management from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University (Cum Laude), and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of South Carolina.

Annually, I volunteer to participate in Epsilon Omega Chapter’s “Thanksgiving Day” community giving program.

Honored to represent the Sixth District of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., to present a $5,000 HBCU donation to President (Col.) Alexander Conyers, President, SC State University

Annually, I volunteer and participate in the Epsilon Omega Chapter “Boys to Men Summer Camp.” The camp’s focus is Manhood Training that is based upon four principles, Friendship, Scholarship, Respect, & Teamwork.
